Make ’em Laugh!
SSP’s second year of educational offerings for actors young and old kicks into gear with our summer workshop: Make ’em Laugh!
We all know Chicago is THE place for comedy. From improv to sketch comedy, Chicago offers a diverse range of shows and classes in many forms. “Make ’em Laugh” is different from your average Chicago comedy class because we will focus on the study and delivery of classic and contemporary scripted comedy through the decades. In the “Age of Revivals,” this will be an invaluable workshop for actors of all ages and abilities. From the first-timer to the seasoned ham, there will be laughs and learning for everyone. From double takes to double entendre, this class will concentrate on dialogue, delivery and physical comedy on stage AND screen. Split into decades, this class will give actors the chance to hone their comedic timing and physical comedy skills using memorable, classic scenes from some of our most beloved shows. If you love to laugh, take this class…there will be cookies!
