David Fehr
David is very excited to work on Chekhov' Shorts at SSP. Other directing credits include: Waiting for the Parade (University Theatre Association, UMKC), Sin and Europe (One Night Stand, Kansas City), Ado (Equinox Festival, Uarts), Crisp White Morning (Equinox Festival, UArts) as well as Catalysts (an experimental piece that dealt with the pursuit of archetypes through mask work (Uarts). As an actor he was last seen as Faulkland in The Rivals (PET), The Cure At Troy (UMKC), Quindaro (UMKC), Goodnight Children Everywhere (UMKC), Noises Off, Present Laughter (UMKC), Kulygun in Three Sisters (UMKC), Cloud 9 (UMKC), Room Service (KC Rep), A Streetcar Named Desire (MET), Sin (ONS), Europe (ONS), and many others. Renae Stone
Jack Phillips
John Grant-Phillips (Jack) has been a working professional actor and director for over thirty years. He received his MFA from the Acting/Directing Division of the Yale School of Drama where he was the John Schubert Memorial Scholar in Directing. Jack has directed nearly 300 productions in professional and community theatres from Belgrade to Los Angeles. He has acted in over 200 plays and has appeared in more than sixty films, television shows and commercials. As an instructor, Jack has taught for Harvard University, Gonzaga University, the Leslie University Graduate School of Education and the A.R.T. Institute of Advanced Theatre Training at Harvard where he was the first Chair. He has been the Executive Director of the Spokane Civic Theatre and the Artistic Director of the Theatre of Western Springs. Jack is a former President of the American Association of Community Theatre. He has recently directed Look Homeward, Angel in Ocala Florida and Arsenic and Old Lace for the Beverly Theatre Guild.
James Palmer
James Palmer is the Artistic Director at Red Tape Theatre Company. Directing credits include; Jesusland, Coriolanus, Baden Lehrstucke, Endgame, Pugilist Specialist (which he also authored), and Enemy of the People. Dramaturge credits include My Richard, Tis Pity She’s A Whore, and The Merchant of Venice. Lighting Design credits include The Des Moines Metro Opera, Simpson College, and Tin Fish Theatre. His regional tech work credits include Texas Shakespeare Festival and Steppenwolf Theatre Company. James is the Executive Assistant to Martha Lavey and David Hawkanson at Steppenwolf Theatre Company. James graduated Magna Cum Laude from Simpson College and is an alumnus of the Chicago Director’s Lab. James is on the Board of Directors at the League of Chicago Theatre and chairs the TCG 2010 Late Night Event Committee. He sits on the Access Panel for the League of Chicago Theatres and Steppenwolf Theatre Company. James is a vestry member at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church and chairs their Marketing Committee.
Stephen Murray
Stephen's work has been seen at at the New York International Fringe Festival where he directed The Darling Children. Chicago Credits include productions at the Bailiwick Director's Festival, N.U.F.A.N. Ensemble, City Lit Theatre, Speaking Ring Theatre, and the Illinois Philological Association. Mr. Murray served Artistic Director of Promethean Theatre Ensemble and is an emeritus ensemble member of Strawdog Theatre Company.
David Knoell
An Iowa native, David has recently landed in Chicago via Orlando Florida. He holds degrees from the University of Nebraska, and an MFA in Acting from the University of Central Florida. A proud member of Actor's Equity, David has performed in Chicago, New York, and of course Florida. Favorite past roles include Mozart in Amadeus and Tom in The Glass Menagerie. David has directed theatre, film and improvisation, and his favorite directing credits include Little Shop of Horrors, Sweeny Todd, The Baltimore Waltz, and the experimental improvisation troupe THE DERELICT TOYS. Love to my family, especially my Chicago cousins Andrew and Earl.
Elizabeth Lovelady
A native Texan, Elizabeth graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas with a BFA in Directing and Playwrighting. Educational theatrical credits include: The Laramie Project (director), Fabulation (assistant director), Grind (playwright), Cabaret (Sally), 365/365 (various roles). Since moving to Chicago, Elizabeth has worked for many theatres in various positions. Favorite local works include: The Dining Room with Oil Lamp Theatre (director), Love Person with Victory Gardens (assistant director), End Days with Next Theatre (assistant director), People’s Temple with American Theatre Company (run crew). She is glad to begin a relationship with the Saint Sebastian Players, and is thrilled to be directing a play by her favorite playwright!
Steve Malone
Ryan Washabaugh
Ryan is thrilled to be cooking up a dish for this Chekhovian feast for Saint Sebastien Players. He hails from Pittsburgh, acquired his BA in theatre studies at Kent State University and then continued west to Chicago to put down some roots. He has been here now for three years and is still loving this city and it people. He is a founding member and the Associate Artistic Director of Blackbird Theatre Company(BTC) a fledgling in the Chicago theatre community. Most recent directing credits include: Cinderella, A Pantomime (OPAC), The Incorruptible (OPAC), Crave (KSU - Blackbox), Margaret Fleming (BTC). Most recent scenic design credits include: The Altruists (BTC), Margaret Fleming (BTC), Into the Pool... (BTC), The Typographer's Dream (5th Floor Productions). This one is for you Marya. Aaron Hendrickson
Aaron just recently emerged from directing the Irish fantasy production of And Time Runs On, with the grand people at Dragoncello theatre and the Irish American Heritage Center. Other Directing Credits include Folkfire (Tympanic Theatre) Lemon Head (side project), Cowboy Mouth, Come Back, Little Sheba (Classic Studio), Picasso at the Lapin Agile (New Studio), and Songs for a New World, (MTC). Other Chicago Credits Include Assistant Directing on Butt Nekkid (side project theatre) And Assistant Directing on the Jeff Nominated Picnic (Writers’ Theatre). Aaron is currently developing the new play Happy Columbine Day by Logan Beaver, for production, and excitedly looking forward to directing Sex Marks the Spot, a contemporary Farce at The Theatre Building this January. Aaron Is a recent Graduate of Columbia College Chicago.
